Orange County Reverse Osmosis System
The
most common reason people give for treating tap water in the United
States is “health concerns”. One of the most common methods of treating
tap water is Reverse Osmosis filtration. A Reverse Osmosis system uses
sediment filtration, activated carbon filtration and reverse osmosis
filtration to deliver clean, fresh drinking water to your home.
Are you aware of the concerns over prescription drugs in your tap water?
“A vast array of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics,
anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found
in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans…”
“…drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major
metropolitan areas — from Southern California to Northern New Jersey,
from Detroit to Louisville, Ky…”
According
to the Water Quality Association (WQA) , a properly installed and
maintained Reverse Osmosis system, like the AdvantageOne RO
System from Splash Plumbing, provides the highest level of
technology available for the treatment of drinking water.
What about bottled water? How good is it? It is a fact that there are
no government standards that require bottled water to be any better,
purer or safer than tap water! In fact, unless it is being transported
across state lines, there are no federal regulations that govern its
quality!
Some bottled water is good and some is no better than your tap water.
Many bottled water companies use Reverse Osmosis technology to purify
their water, then they bottle this water and sell it to you. If you
have a Reverse Osmosis system, like the AdvantageOne RO
System installed in your home today, you eliminate the middle
man. Why pay as much as $6.00 for a gallon of water and not know what
you’re getting?
And what happens to all those empty bottles? Some of them probably get
recycled, but let’s face it, most of them do not. With an AdvantageOne
RO System installed in your home, you won’t ever have to buy
another water bottle, or, you can re-fill the bottles you have and
re-use them. Most of us would be much more likely to recycle if it was
easier because we had so few items that needed to be recycled. Get a
little more “green”, spend a lot less green, and use fewer plastic
bottles. Have a Reverse Osmosis system installed today!
About the System
The AdvantageOne RO System is a five-stage filtration and purification system. The stages are: sediment filtration, 2 stages of carbon filtration, the reverse osmosis filter membrane and a final carbon filtration stage. This system comes complete with a 2.5 gallon storage tank (industry standard), an automatic shut-off device built in, and a chrome RO spigot. (Other spigot colors are available for an additional charge.)
About the Installation
During the standard installation, it will be necessary to shut
off the cold water under your sink only. We do not need to shut off
water to your entire house! We will be making a connection to your cold
water supply under the sink, as well as a connection to your drain pipe.
Part of the installation is installing the RO
spigot (at left, not actual size). This will require a hole in your
sink top or countertop large enough to fit the faucet. At Splash
Plumbing, we can drill both stainless steel sinks and porcelain sinks.
If you have a device that is using one of the existing holes in your
sink that you are no longer using (such as a soap dispenser), we can
remove this device and use that hole. (Unfortunately, we cannot drill
granite, marble, soapstone and other materials. This is why we try to
use one of the existing holes if you have this type of material to be
drilled.)

These are available to be installed, instead of the standard black & chrome faucet, for an additional charge.

A permeate pump
(at left, not actual size)
This device needs no electricity and will deliver RO water at higher pressures and make your storage tank hold more water.

(at left, not actual size)
These units heat the water to approximately 200 degrees and come with a variety of faucets. The faucets are available in various colors and finishes and can dispense hot water only or both hot and room temperature water. If you combine this with an undercounter chiller (see below), a faucet can be installed that will dispense both hot and chilled water!
